As I glance out my window and see embankments of snow everywhere, the last thing I’m thinking about is baseball but Major League Opening Day is roughly a week away. More importantly, MLB The Show 18 launches days prior to that so whether Mother Nature is ready or not baseball is coming and I’ll be ready.

The off-season started off with a bang as the Yankees traded for National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton and the Angels signed dual threat Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani. However since then we’ve lost momentum as free agency period hasn’t lived up to expectations.

But where real life baseball has lacked, video game baseball has made up for the disappointment with huge announcements coming from The Show. In case you’ve been living under a rock I’m talking about new Legends introduced to the game, the likes of Babe Ruth, Bob Gibson, Mike Piazza, Albert Belle and Jeff Bagwell. Plenty of news coming from the Sony San Diego group has me pumped for baseball season and that’s a rarity for me this early in the year. Typically I don’t get into baseball until soccer season ends following the Champions League in May.

I’ll be counting down the days until the Cubs face off against the Marlins in a near empty stadium to kick off the season; Jon Lester vs. Jose Urena on Thursday, March 29th. Let’s Go! Look for more baseball content this year from me, specifically as it relates to The Show. I want to leverage my FIFA Ultimate Team experience and take more of a role looking at market prices and potential investments; it’s the aspect of the game I enjoy the most. So more to come on that…
